The Dallas Park and Recreation Department's current dog-park page (https://www.dallasparks.org/145/Dog-Parks) states it “has eleven off-leash dog parks” and lists exactly eleven entries: Barry Annino, Carpenter, Crockett, Harwood, Klyde Warren, Lakeland Hills, Main Street Garden, NorthBark, Parkhill, Wagging Tail (10 dog parks) plus White Rock Lake Park. The same department's older page https://dallasparks.org/145/2590/Dog-Parks says “four dog parks located throughout the city” while displaying the same eleven sidebar links - a stale sentence, not a different list. The City's own GIS/attribute data disagrees further: the Dallas GIS Parks layer (egis.dallascityhall.com Crm_public/CrmLayers MapServer layer 16, and the same table as Socrata dataset hpuy-56sq) assigns park_type 'SPECIAL (OFF-LEASH)' to only TWO sites - NORTHBARK and BARK PARK CENTRAL - so a GIS park_type query returns 2 off-leash sites, not 11. The City publishes no Socrata open-data layer for dog parks: a Socrata catalog search of www.dallasopendata.com for 'dog park' and 'off leash' returns 0 datasets. Also note the City site's own broken link: the dog-park list's 'Parkhill Dog Park' entry points at the Main Street Garden page (facility 574); Parkhill's real page is facility 834. This dataset uses the eleven entries from the current list page as official_count.

Hours are published per-park and only for some sites: five of the eleven dog parks carry an opening-hours line on their own City facility page (Barry Annino, White Rock Lake, NorthBark, Wagging Tail, Parkhill); Crockett states only closure days with no opening hours; Carpenter, Harwood, Klyde Warren, Lakeland Hills and Main Street Garden publish no hours at all. The City publishes no citywide dog-park opening hours. Every dog-park page and the rules page state that sites close periodically for rain and for weekly maintenance, and the City directs users to its Dog Park Hotline / Rain Out Line on 214-614-6711 before visiting.

OpenStreetMap is not comparable here. An Overpass query for leisure=dog_park over greater Dallas (bbox 32.61,-97.01,33.03,-96.54) returns 100 elements, most of them unnamed or private apartment-complex and commercial dog parks outside the City of Dallas Park and Recreation system. Named elements that do correspond to City sites: NorthBark Dog Park (way 168447998), Wagging Tail Dog Park (way 168452773), White Rock Lake Dog Park (way 439763348), Barry Annino Bark Park (way 450893332), Main Street Garden Dog Park (way 419480839), Carpenter Park Dog Park (node 10221990237), Lakeland Hills Dog Park (ways 1502766498/1502766499) and Parkhill Dog Park (way 1544673079). No OSM element matched Crockett, Harwood or Klyde Warren. OSM values are not used for any field in this dataset.
